Meet Benevity
Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!
Benevity is looking for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to lead revenue planning, reporting and operations in one connected team. Reporting to our SVP, Finance, you will own how we set revenue targets, track commits and actuals, forecast, and pay for performance, and you will lead the Revenue Operations team that powers our go-to-market engine.
This is a new, expanded role that brings FP&A and RevOps together. You will turn revenue data into decisions: building commission plans that motivate the right behaviour, forecasting with Sales, Client Success and Finance, and giving executives a single, trusted view of the revenue business. You will lead a team that includes a Revenue Operations group and an FP&A analyst who owns accounting and reporting for revenue.
If you love the intersection of finance and go-to-market, want to move a team from reporting to planning, and are motivated by a mission-driven company, this role is for you.
What you’ll do:
Revenue planning and forecasting
Own the revenue plan: set bookings, ARR and revenue targets and translate them into quotas and territory or segment capacity in partnership with Sales, Client Success and Marketing
Lead company-wide revenue forecast cycle in partnership with GTM Operations.
Prepare scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to support GTM planning and Sales leadership conversations.
Partner with Finance and GTM leadership during the annual planning cycle, aligning revenue targets, headcount assumptions and GTM investment with financial models and board-level plans.
Build and maintain financial models that link GTM drivers (pipeline, conversion, retention, expansion) to financial outcomes.
Revenue reporting and insight
Develop executive-level dashboards and deliver trusted weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on top line performance
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape GTM strategy and drive performance improvements.
Standardize KPIs and definitions across Sales, Marketing and Customer Success, creating a single source of truth for the organization.
Oversee revenue reporting and reconciliation work with Accounting to keep reported revenue accurate, timely and auditable
Sales compensation
Design, model and refresh sales commission and incentive plans aligned to company strategy and budget
Oversee commission calculation, administration, auditing and dispute resolution, including tooling and controls
Forecast commission expense and report on plan effectiveness, attainment and payout trends
Leadership
Lead, coach and develop a team that includes Revenue Operations and an FP&A analyst, building planning capability alongside strong reporting
Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, translating financial and operational data into recommendations
Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems and controls as we scale and implement new financial planning tools
What you’ll bring:
8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, revenue operations, sales finance or a related field, including 3+ years leading people; SaaS or fintech experience strongly preferred
Hands-on experience designing sales commission and incentive plans, and administering them in a tool such as CaptivateIQ or Xactly
Deep experience with revenue reporting and forecasting: targets, pipeline and commit management, actuals, and variance analysis
Advanced financial modeling skills, plus experience with planning software (e.g., Pigment, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and an ERP such as NetSuite
Strong command of Salesforce and BI tools (e.g., Tableau), and an understanding of SaaS and fintech metrics
Proven ability to build and scale processes, systems and controls across a go-to-market organization
Curiosity about AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) and a track record of using them to improve analysis and automate reporting
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to executives and influence Sales, Client Success and Finance leaders
A coaching mindset: you build teams, develop talent and bring people together across functions
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field; MBA, CPA or CFA is an asset
